This blog is to be my alternative to Facebook which I was never really fond of to begin with. Here I intend to post basic day-to-day news, thoughts, photos, and links. My decision to leave FB is not political in any way or tied to any particular event, scandal, or news item. I have long felt that clicking on an up-thumb was a pretty lame substitute for actual one-on-one contact and communication, even if that communication is digital in nature. Sending or receiving birthday greetings because someone got a reminder from FB isn't the same as remembering because one cares. Besides, if anybody familiar with my old FB page hasn't figured it out yet, I was not born on December 7th. So the idea here is to have people check in when they have time without being filtered, scanned, eavesdropped on, blocked, categorized or sold. Comments, questions, opinions and communications are welcome.

To start things of here is a photo of a tanker heading for Boston Harbor and Egg Island taken a couple of weeks ago with my new (used) Fuji XE-2 street camera while walking my dog Brodie along Lynn Shore Drive.
Thank you for checking. More to come, hopefully.
